Dedicated care

My private practice specialises in providing advice, assessment and diagnosis for children with general paediatric problems. I see paediatric conditions affecting children from birth to teenage years including: colds, coughing, wheezing and asthma, rashes, fever and infections, feeding difficulties in infants such as reflux and colic, constipation, abdominal pain , urinary problems and headaches. I look after preterm babies on the neonatal intensive care unit at Kingston and am happy to advise on complications of prematurity.

About me

I love reading and would love to write a children’s book. I enjoy music and play the piano (badly). I am a big fan of films – mostly Hollywood musicals and 1980’s John Hughes, although I have branched out into this century recently. I love swimming and used to be a lifeguard. I have a strong interest in education and I have held classes and sessions at my local schools, teaching primary school children about health and assisting local sixth formers with medical school applications and interview practice. I have been an instructor in Neonatal Life Support since 1999. In 2019 I travelled to Vietnam with ‘Newborns Vietnam’ to train doctors and nurses in neonatal life support order to assist them in developing their own local education program.

“Very nice doctor, who obviously loves children. I felt I could chat to her very informally, and that she listened to what I had to say.”

“Without Dr Beaton being the doctor she is, my daughter would be a lot sicker for a lot longer. At a crisis point Dr Beaton listened, understood and acted on information and clinical presentation of my daughter to ensure she recieved the correct care in the right place. A year later my daughter is recovering really well.I couldn’t recommend this wonderful doctor enough. ThankYou Dr B !”
